Connect Google

A public setup guide for the band owner. No sign-in needed to read it.

Google sign-in is waiting for your OAuth client. Local workspace access remains available.

Set up this local website

  1. Create a Google project

Open Google Auth Platform ↗ and create or select a project for Pictures In Mono. Complete Branding with the app name, support email and contact email.

  2. Choose your audience

Choose External. While the app is in Testing, add your Google email and each collaborator's email to the test users under Audience. You only need basic sign-in permissions: openid, email and profile.

  3. Create a Web application client

In Clients, create an OAuth client with application type Web application. Add this exact Authorized redirect URI:

    http://localhost:5173/login/oauth2/code/google

Use localhost when opening this website. A different port or 127.0.0.1 is a different address for Google.

When the public website is hosted on picturesinmono.com, register its exact redirect address too: https://picturesinmono.com/login/oauth2/code/google. The public domain must be connected and HTTPS working before testing that address.

  4. Import the downloaded client file

Download the client JSON from Google. From the project folder, run the command below with the path to your downloaded file. The import saves it privately on this computer.

    .\scripts\configure-google.ps1 -ClientJsonPath "C:\path\to\client.json"

Then restart the local website with scripts/stop-local.ps1 followed by scripts/start-local.ps1. Keep the secret out of chat and Git.

  5. Invite your Google account as Owner

Use your current local owner account to create an Owner invitation for your real Google email in People & access. Open that invitation and choose Continue with Google. Invite bandmates as Editors in the same way.

    People & access

The import command configures this local computer. Hosting uses private server configuration and a first Owner email. Reading this guide does not grant access to the Studio.
